In 1991, Maurizio Borsari designed the first version of the helmet as an interface suitable for use in the hyperbaric chambers.
In 1999, he co-founded what is now Starmed, the world's first manufacturer of helmets for Non-Invasive Ventilation, which was later acquired by Intersurgical.
In 2002, he created DIMAR, with the aim of developing a global philosophy on NIV, supported by innovative technologies not found on the world market.
